8 Random Things About Me
My Twitter friend Wicked Stepmom graciously tagged me for the meme "8 Random Things About Me." Of the gazillion random things about me, I have chosen these eight:
1. I saw the "Sound of Music" as a child and for awhile after, I wanted to become a nun. I fell more in love with Julie Andrews than Captain Von Trapp did. Fortunately, I snapped out of that spell. Then 5 years later, when "Paper Moon" came out, Tatum O'Neal became my idol. Unfortunately, I was now old enough to make the decision to have my hair cut like the bowl cut she wore as Addie. Now that I think of it, it was the same haircut as Maria Von Trapp.
2. Second Life terrifies me. I would stay there forever. Eventually the police would come to my house and find pizza boxes and Chinese food cartons, piled up unopened magazines and me planted in my chair, still online even in death.
3. Pete Rose should be allowed into the Hall of Fame if you ask me. I sat next to a guy from Major League Baseball on a plane and told him so in no uncertain terms. I also think there should be a fan vote for the Hall of Fame.
4. In 2005, I moved back to New York City after living in San Francisco for 3 years. I drove cross-country through the Southwest by myself. I thought I would think about a lot of stuff, but all I could think about was driving.
5. As a tween/adolescent, I enjoyed crafts. I fancied myself a born-too-late flower child, so my favorite craft was tie-dye. Whenever I see boxes of Rit Dye in the stores, I start to salivate like Pavlov's Dog.
6. Sophomore year at Franklin and Marshall College in Lancaster, PA, Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes performed on campus. The FM program director was going to interview Southside before the show. I talked him into allowing me into the studio to meet the rocker and FOB (Friend of Bruce) by offering to present Southside with a dozen red roses to welcome him to Lancaster, the Red Rose City. He acquiesced and I still keep the pictures in my bag of lucky pieces. My sister Suzanne and I are going to see Southside Johnny perform August 16.
7. Every year, I must purchase a brand new pair of badass, expensive, stylish sunglasses. They are my Easter Bonnet. I feel naked without them. Oddly, I don't care as much about shoes.
8. I look 3/4 my age and I act 1/2 my age.
There you have it. I owe Wicked Stepmom for tagging me, because I still owe a post to a meme from like 3 months ago. I wanted the chance to prove that I could meet my end of the bargain. So I guess you could call my meme responsiveness, LIFO, "Last In, First Out." Up next, the productivity post Connie Reece tagged me for in May I think.
